Stay far from timid
Only make moves when your heart's in it
And live the phrase, "Sky's The Limit"

Protect the Youth, Secure the Future

We facilitated a mural design workshop with 15 youth between the ages of 11-18 which, together, led them to design a piece with the overarching theme that protecting the youth and the natural world secures our future.

Through a series of prompts and discussions the youth focused on creating what is affectionately called “the superheroes of the natural world.” The animals represent ones that the youth could shape-shift into from possessing that particular superpower. The animals also represent those whose nature centers on living in packs or families because home and family were important to the youth.

We also facilitated 15 art making workshops over the course of 4 days where community members from ages 3 to Seniors created 321 individual pieces of art. Each piece was then collaged into the mural to create a mystical mosaic aesthetic.

This VT family is turning buildings into their canvas for bright and majestic community murals. For the last few years, Juniper Creative has been painting colorful murals across Vermont buildings.

The Black and Dominican family art collective — based in Brandon — is all about community. They often invite folks to help plan and even paint parts of their murals. The collective includes dad Will Kasso Condry, mom Jennifer Herrera Condry, and daughter Alexa Herrera Condry.

Their latest community-based mural is going up inside of the Greater Burlington YMCA. It will feature a kid on a dragon flying through a portal to safety.

Kids Collaborate on a New Mural at the Burlington Y. Shortly after the Greater Burlington YMCA opened its new building on January 1, 2020, it had to shut the doors temporarily due to COVID-19. According to senior communications director Doug Bishop, staff had always envisioned some kind of artwork on the lobby wall, and when they heard about Juniper Creative Arts and [their] community mural projects, they knew they'd found the right fit.

The Vermont-based Black and Dominican family collective includes Will Kasso Condry, Jennifer Herrera Condry and their daughter, Alexa Herrera Condry. They've completed mural projects all around the state — from North Country Union High School in Newport to Stowe Middle School to Champlain Elementary School in Burlington.
